WARNING!!! Do not use a 12V power supply with this product or you will lose your warranty. Although arduino.cc recommends sources up to 12v, we have had reports from customers that their arduinos were damaged because of this. The atmega328p works on 5v uno boards, and to reduce the input voltage it uses a Voltage Regulator. Voltage regulators reduce the voltage by turning the surplus into heat, and if the power dissipated in it is too high the board will certainly BURN. We recommend the use of sources, preferably 5v nominal or, at most, up to 7.5V.
